Karen Munro-Caple, a graduate of Algonquin College, has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2001. She has had a diverse practice which included seniors in the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre, adults in group homes with Cerebral Palsy to volunteering massage treatments with the AID’s Committee of Ottawa. Her practice ranges from treating pregnant women, seriously ill patients to athletes and weekend warriors. As well as regular massage treatments she has studied Ortho-Bionomy.

She also supervises third year Algonquin College Massage Therapy students at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre since 2003.

Robyn’s lifelong passion for health and well-being has driven her to a commitment to excellence in her field, from obtaining a diploma as a holistic health practitioner to graduating with valedictorian honours from the International Academy of Massage Ottawa in March 2019.

Robyn is motivated to help clients recover in a timely manner within the clients capabilities and empowers clients to be active participants in the therapeutic process. Lillian graduated with honors in March 2019 from International Academy of Massage in Ottawa.

Lillian’s professional techniques include Swedish massage, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, trigger point therapy and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). Within a typical treatment she can combine these different techniques to help relieve tight muscles from everyday use or injuries from overuse.

Lillian is also certified in Ashiatsu Therapy. This is when the therapist uses their feet to apply deep pressure. The gliding stroke of Ashiatsu is extremely effective for deep tissue work, and offers the experience of incredibly consistent pressure and an incomparable sensation of flow. Kat is a compassionate and down to Earth Massage Therapist. She has a calm demeanour that allows clients to feel comfortable to relax and let go while receiving treatment. She loves to learn and is constantly on the hunt for Holistic ways to heal the body and to reach optimal health.

When working with a client her approach is to address their specific needs while bringing their body back into a more balanced state. Her goal is to get to the root of the issue and support the body’s Innate self healing capabilities.

Kat is also a Certified Advanced Ashiatsu Massage Therapist. Ashi- meaning foot and Atsu- meaning pressure. She is very passionate about using this method of massage as it’s extremely effective for deep tissue work but also all forms of treatment. Instead of using her hands she uses her feet to massage clients.

Before Massage Therapy, Kat worked as a yoga instructor and has over 500 hours in training. She still takes workshops and trainings and continues to expand her knowledge of yoga and meditation. She uses a lot of the stretches from yoga to give to her clients to do at home.

Most recently, Kat has been trained in level 1 Reiki; a form of energy healing that removes energetic blockages in the body and brings it back into a harmonious state where energy flows freely. She enjoys combing Reiki with massage therapy.

Andrew has spent his working life specializing in customer service and successfully taking on a succession of management roles. Before deciding to become a massage therapist, Andrew worked in a wide range of jobs that allowed him to focus on providing an exceptional customer experience. He was consistently able to place himself in his customers’ shoes and discover their individual needs. From coffee shops to food service to working at a marina out west, Andrew was able to adapt to each new environment and to hone his communication and management skills.

With his natural ability to build rapport with individuals, Andrew knew that he wanted a long-term career that revolved around helping people. Once enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at Algonquin College, Andrew instantly knew that massage was his calling: a career with a hands-on and client-focused approach, that has an impact on people’s well-being, functional living, and general health, was an ideal fit.
